A dedicated regional-based team manages IT site mobilisation and demobilisation for Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and the other divisions within Morgan Sindall Group.

The team will assess and design the most appropriate IT set up and guide you through sourcing and ordering equipment.

The team provides support during the tender process. Establishing if a specific quote or solution was compiled as part of the tender process is helpful. This information should be available in the handover documents from the tender team.

The site establishment team must:

  • On contract award, contact the IT Site Mobilisation Team, who will ask you to complete a short questionnaire. The information will focus on providing the following:
    • Site address.
    • Lead time.
    • Expected peak number of users (including guests).
    • Confirmation of building type (permanent or temporary).
    • Duration of contract and details of any phasing.
    • Site specific requirements (customer requirements, CCTV, access control interfaces).
    • Extent of the network (range of wireless required).
    • AV and video conferencing requirements.
    • Budget / tender provision.
    • Tender quotes received (if available).
  • Assess data capacity requirements to make sure the connection fulfils the demands of the project throughout the project duration.
  • Identify any customer specific requirements, e.g. nuclear licensed sites.

Lead times for site connectivity

  • 10 working days – rapid (4G / 5G*).
  • 20 working days – wireless fibre / Starlink.
  • 90 working days – fixed line (fibre).

Reminder

Consider an adaptable solution that allows the IT infrastructure to flex and adapt to suit any phasing / demobilisation to the site welfare provision.

IT Equipment for an individual

Computers and accessories must be ordered via the new starters process. Additional accessories, requests for access, software purchases, etc., must be made via DigITal.

Any additional equipment that is required to support a reasonable adjustment for an individual member of staff should be ordered by the individual. The site team must give consideration to any additional space, power etc., that may be needed.
